Brain Dump babbling

I've been having these stomach aches lately - can't tell if it's anxiety or what, but I just have this overwhelming sense of doom. I'm not sure what's behind it, but it's dread and doom. Like bad shit is coming. Sometimes, I seem to have strong inklings of things and other times, I'm being led... Continue Reading →

Brain dump babble

Okay, I have about 30 minutes to write before I have to jet off to appointments and whatnot. This is the first time I've been alone in awhile. I don't have much in the way of profundity, but I had an awesome morning in the car with the kids. They were blasting Shinedown and we... Continue Reading →

Trying to figure out how to channel anxiety into something other than creating more anxiety. I could try tossing cliches at it... "If everything is a priority, nothing is" "gratitude is the best attitude" "what you pay attention to is what you attract" "calm thy tits" Last one helped. It's always the funny stuff that... Learning to listen

Do you know the story of Abraham almost sacrificing his son because he was told to? I've been thinking about that lately. Like, what if he was schizophrenic? What if the bible is a lot of mentally ill people doing things that we call mentally ill? That's a weird start, but that's where I'm starting.... Continue Reading →

Wagging the Black Dog

Did you know shaking your body quickly and intensely - kind of like a dog shakes - is a quick way to reset your system and lessen anxiety? I learned it from one of my doctors, and it actually works really well. I just get so anxious I forget how to deal with anxiety. I... Continue Reading →

Sterilize

Sterilize Sterile smiles, virile lies I’m getting better, my soul has died It is an illness It is insane It is my heaven It is my grave They say it’s catching Like I’m a cough They say I’m crazy I say, so what? Starry eyes, eerie cries Into the heavens I have soared I’ve danced... Continue Reading →

The Virus in Our Minds

The sickness in our minds is a much higher mortality rate than any virus. 34 year old man takes his own life, unable to cope with self isolation I cannot imagine the hells people are trapped in. Isolated with a mind that wants you dead. He's not the first, and before this thing is over,... Continue Reading →

Thoughts on Trauma

The most difficult part of trauma is that most people don't like to use the word trauma. There is a misunderstanding that trauma is "so bad". If you had a bruise, it's skin trauma. All of us have had a bruise, so all of us have had some kind of skin trauma. To others, skin trauma means something "really bad" like someone shaved off your face and wore it. Not all of us have had our faces removed, but we have all had trauma. And we need to talk about it - because trauma can only be healed by being processed

13 Reasons..

With everything going on right now, I thought this had merit. With the tragic loss of the great Chris Cornell, I thought this post was good to re-share. 13 reasons why I am happy, and 13 reasons why I won't harm myself.  Inspired by Virtual Vomit And J-Dub 🙂 The challenge is to write 13... No, Seriously, Suicide is Not Selfish

Unsurprisingly, lots of opinions, theories, and soapboxes have come out in the wake of Chris Cornell's suicide.  When Robin Williams committed suicide, I wrote a long piece attempting to remove ignorant peoples' heads from their asses, so I guess I should write again... Suicide is not selfish It must be nice to exist in a... Continue Reading →
